Here we are full swing into the summer, with the hot humid days, and I hope everyone is doing well. The 4th of July is gone, and I'm sure everyone enjoyed their picnics and celebrations. There's not much that's news worthy of this month, so this will be a short newsletter. The Installation of Officers Ceremony Dinner, was pretty well attended. Thanks to all who couls make it and show your support for the incoming officers. This month, at the beginning of the post meeting, we will present out awards to Boys and Girls State Representatives, and to the Police Officer and Fireman of the Year. The meeting will commence again after the awards presentation. Let's have a good turn out, and show the community and our guests, that we are a strong legion post, and will continue to assist in the community Our condolences to the family and friends of George Sechrest, a member of our post, who recently passed away. The family did not request and legion services, so many of you may not have known that he died. By now, you all should have recieved your dues notices for the current membership year. As you may recall, in a previous newsletter, it was reported that the dues had increased to $30/year. Somehow, the Department of Ohio neglected to change their data, and the dues notices went out with a $20 fee on it. I would implore you to recognize that the error has been made, but also recognized that dues are really $30, and send in that amount. Our post quota for this year is 108 members. Let's work real hard to make quota early this year. Don't wait. Get your dues in now. Well as I told you, this would be short. Please remember that your attendance at post meetings is the only way in which you really can have a say about what is going on at the post, how the funds are being utilized, and the direction in which the post is heading. So make an effort to get to the meeting this month. It will be on Wednesday, July 14th at 8:00 PM. The Executive Board Meeting will begin that same night at 7:00 PM. Now, having told you that, I also must admit that I'll have to miss that meeting, my first as Commander, because I'll be out of town. Claude Merrill, 1st Vice Commander, will fill in quite aptly.
